Mote Spoons
Mote spoons were a necessary part of the tea equipage in the 18th century, as they were used to skim the irregular size tea leaves out. The pointed terminal served to clear the spout of the tea pot, should it be blocked. The pierced decoration did not vary a great deal, and they were usually only had the makers marks and/or lion passant.
