 | Shona Marsh
Shona Marsh orginially completed a fine art degree at Edinburgh College of Art before specialising in silversmithing at Birminghams School of Jewellery. She set up her workshop in 2005 and has been designing and making contemporary silverware since. In November 2008 she completed her first major commission for the Birmingham Assay Office and in February 2009 Shona moved to new larger workshop premises in the heart of the Birmingham's historic Jewellery Quarter.
Artist statement:
Shona Marsh's work is concerned with creating fresh and original pieces of silverware inspired by clean geometric lines and patterns. Designs are derived from the exploration of circles and spheres, slicing, segmenting or repeating parts of the original shape. The silver is combined elegantly with fine woods and each piece is designed not only for its beauty but also for its functionality.

 | Matthew Boulton Bicentenary Candelabrum
2009 marked Boulton's bicentenary and to celebrate his life,work and legacy The Birmingham Assay Office commissioned Shona to make this magnificent candelabrum.
It was made using time-honoured techniques combined with new technolgies and is testinony to the legacy of Matthew Boulton.
