Theresa Nguyen
Theresa was born in Wales in 1985. She was raised and educated in Birmingham where she now practices as a silversmith from her workshop in the heart of the jewellery quarter. Although her work utilises a broad repertoire of silversmithing techniques, she specialises in hand raising sheet metal. It was during her first year at the Birmingham Institute of Art and Design that she entered and won the prestigious Goldsmiths ' Young Designer of the Year Award' , this afforded her the opportunity of producing objects in the workshop of Grant MacDonald, one of Britain's leading silversmiths. Further Experience was gained at the workshop of Jan Van Nouhuys in Schoonhoven, and also with the help of a Nadfas South Mercia scholarship a year at master class level at Bishopsland post graduate workshop.

Photography by Clarissa Bruce
The design expresses a strong sense of organic movement in silver. The fluidity of a gentle breeze and the undulating qualities of water are the collective inspiration for this piece.
In essence, the form captures the vibrancy of the natural world.
