Richard Fox

Richard Fox disliked metalwork at school, but at Hornsey College of Art studying jewellery under Keith Redfern in 1974 was shown 3D design and started silversmithing. He studied under Gerald Benney at the Royal College of Art, graduating in 1981. In 1983 he received his first commission from the Goldsmiths' Company, a pair of 4 branch candelabra - more were to follow. In 1984 he designed and made his first motor racing trophy and he has continued to do work for Bernie Ecclestone since, producing the current Formula One Drivers' World Championship trophy in 1995. He has also produced work for Garrard, Bulgari, 10 Downing Street and even a chalice given to the Pope by the Archbishop of Canterbury.
