LOUIS ARNOLD GALVIN was apprenticed to H G Murphy and received his Freedom in 1935 with a Chalice set with amethysts, which was given to the Goldsmiths Company for their collection in 1984. Murphy died in 1939 and during the war Galvin worked at Hawkers atKingston-on-Thames building aircraft. In 1946 he went back into the trade working with Edward Barnard & Co for 10 years before setting up his own business in Hatton Garden, producing mainly domestic pieces. When his lease expired he went to Wets Molesey where he worked mainly as aan antique silver restorer. .He taught at Camberwell College until 1976
