Reynell Oswald Huyshe was the half brother of George Hart who took over the Guild of Handicraft from Ashbee. Huyshe initially learnt silversmithing there in 1912 but joined up in 1914. After he returned in 1919 he was in partnership with George until 1928.but as he was more academically minded he went to teach at Gravesend School of Art, where teaching at this time was still influenced by the Arts and Crafts movement. (One of his pupils here was Alex Styles). Huyshe remained there until his death in 1939 at the age of 44.
