Having the most bizarre appearance on the African skyline, the Baobab tree has inspired many tribes to call it the 'Upside Down Tree'. The Patrick Mavros ancient Baobab was built from memories of many Baobabs in Zimbabwe, particularly those along the Zambezi River and those cavernous ones from the southeast low veld. The Bushmen who shelter under the tree are cast in solid 18 carat yellow gold, and the tree itself is cast in sterling silver, which is the natural colour of the Baobab tree. Only two of these special pieces are created per year |
