Handle mounted with Mother of Pearl; reconstituted Lapis Lazuli & Turquoise

Povl Larsen was born in Rhodesia in 1953. 1971-2 foundation course in Art & Design 1972-5 3D Design in silversmithing and jewellery at Loughborough. Anglo-Danish travel scholarship; worked with Danish gold & silversmiths including in the workshop of Carl Cohr. Late 70's set up workshop in Cornwall - exhibited at 1978 British Craft Awards - 1984 British Fortnight in Los Angeles and more recently a  the Saatchi Gallery. 1989 postgraduate course in Computer Integrated Manufacturing - 1994 awarded a doctorate for his work on Manufacturing Tools, Techniques and Technologies. Commissions include chalices & patens for churches in Fowey & Luxembourg. His work is highly polished and often combined with exotic woods, shells or natural stones.
