David Mellor Silver Items for Sale

David Mellor was born in Sheffield in 1930 and trained as a silversmith at Sheffield College of Art, the Royal College of Art and the British School in Rome. In 1952 he visited Scandinavia on a travelling scholarship and designed Pride cutlery while still at college. This was later manufactured by Walker and Hall for whom Mellor became design consultant. In 1954 he set up his first silversmithing business in Sheffield, sharing a workshop with Brian Asquith from 1955 to 1960. He died in 2009.
