The original Armada Dish was from a set of dishes bearing staggered London hallmarks from 1581 onwards, as reproduced on these. They were originally owned by Sir Christopher Harris, who held a command post at Plymouth, and supposedly used on board ship at the time of the Armada. Buried around 1645 at the time of the Civil War and discovered in 1827. Now in the British Museum.
