Sidney Sparrow was one of the great silversmiths working at the bench. He worked for R E Stone for many years and taught part time at Gravesend School of Art. It was here that he noticed Norman Bassant and three other promising young smiths that Stone acquired as apprentices. Sparrow later worked for William Comyns.
