The intricate design of the Goblet's foot is inspired by the pierced and battlemented parapets and pinnacles which crown the Cathedral's tower. This is the first Aurum goblet to have an entirely architectural inspiration.
The first of these goblets was presented to the Queen by the Dean on a visit to the cathedral in 1981
