Brian's favourite commissions were those he undertook for cathedrals because they usually have histories spanning centuries with artists and craftsmen contributing to their fabric over the years and he therefore felt that he was part of a long tradition. In the early 1990's he was particularly pleased to be commissioned to design and make the processional cross and altar candlesticks for Chichester Cathedral. They were delivered in 1992. The candlesticks illustrated here are half size replicas. (The Tapestry behind the altar designed by John Piper was installed in 1966)
This pair are illustrated in my book 'Designer British Silversmiths'
