A cigarette canister commissioned for the 5th Royal Inniskilling Dragoon Guards - Illustrated on page 256 in my book 'Designer British Silversmiths'
Both Grant Macdonald and Christopher Lawrence rate Hill (1914-75) very highly as a teacher. He taught at the Central School and later at Sir John Cass as well as designing for C J Vander. After the Coronation in 1953 Prince Phillip asked Hill to design a communion set to be given to the Archbishop of Canterbury as a 'Thank you' present. Work bearing his own maker's mark rarely turn up
