"In 2017, I crafted these British Hedgerow Cups, drawing inspiration from the lush hedgerows of Britain. Another dimension to the creation of these cups stems from my time spent at the Goldsmiths' Company in London in 2014. There, I encountered numerous punch tools left behind by the closing goldsmith company. Their craftsmanship was awe-inspiring, and I marvelled at the amount of work it would have taken to make those tools. Selecting some favourites, I experimented with them on small copper sheets, discovering that this traditional approach could produce intricate patterns resembling scattered seeds on the surface. This experience inspired me to craft my own punches while designing the “Hedgerow Beakers” in 2017."
